Claim or correct your listing
For businesses listed in Queenstown Pocket · Last updated 28 September 2026
Queenstown Pocket is a visitor guide made by Tally Sphere Limited, a New Zealand company. It lists places a visitor might use: where to eat, what to do, where to get help. This page explains why your business may be listed, what the listing holds, and how to correct it or have it removed. One email does all of it: hello@queenstownpocket.com.
1. Why your business is listed
A business can appear in the app and on the site without having asked to be listed. Every fact we hold comes from a public source: your own website, your public business profile, or a public register. We use nothing that is not already public.
2. What we hold
A listing is a set of facts and one line of description in our own words:
- the trading name, street address and category
- opening hours, together with the page we read them from and the date we checked them
- a phone number, where the business publishes one
- a price band
- a booking link, where one exists
- one line of description, written by us
We write that line ourselves. We never copy a business’s text or photos, and we never put reviews or ratings on a listing. A set of hours without its source page and check date is not shown. A fact we cannot source is left out, never guessed.
3. No listing is paid for
No business pays to be listed, and no listing is ranked above another for money. The few places the app shows under Featured are our own picks, and nothing is labelled featured, official or recommended because someone paid for it. Where a booking link earns us a commission, the card says so, in the words “Book on Viator. We earn a commission.” A link that earns us nothing reads “Book direct (no commission)”. A paid placement, if we ever offer one, carries the word Sponsored on the item itself and never changes a listing’s facts. The editorial policy sets this out.
4. How to correct a listing
Email hello@queenstownpocket.com with:
- the name of the listing as it appears
- what is wrong, and what it should say
- if you can, a link to the page on your own site that shows the right value
A link to your own page is the fastest route, because that page becomes the source we record beside the fact. There is no form and no account.
5. What happens next
- We acknowledge your email within 2 working days.
- A verifiable fact (hours, phone, address, a closure) is corrected within 5 working days of your email, once we can see the right value on your own site or another public source.
- Editorial wording you dispute (our one-line description) comes down while we check it. It returns only if it is accurate, and rewritten if it is not.
Working days are Monday to Friday, New Zealand time, excluding public holidays. A correction to a website guide is also noted on the corrections page.
6. Asking to be removed
Any business can ask to be removed, and we will remove it. Email the same address with the listing name and the word Remove. We do not ask why, and the removal is done within the same 5 working days.
The one exception is a safety entry. Medical centres, emergency services, the Queenstown i-SITE and the DOC visitor centre stay listed as facts (name, address, phone, hours) because a visitor may need them. A safety entry can still be corrected under section 4.
7. Sole traders and individuals
If your business trades under your own name (a guide, a home stay, a food truck), the facts on that listing are personal information under the Privacy Act 2020. The same correction and removal rights apply, and one more: you can ask what we hold about you and where each fact came from, and we will tell you. Every fact on such a listing comes from a public source only, and we record that source for each field.
