List your Queenstown business, free

Queenstown Pocket is the Queenstown app: buses, walks, snow, places to eat, things to do, and a directory of local businesses to come, with every number sourced and dated. If your business is in the Whakatipu basin and real, it belongs here, and listing costs nothing.

Listings are free and never sold (editorial policy). Last checked 3 October 2026.

Request a listing

Two minutes, free, no account. The same form works for a correction to a listing we already have: put it in the message. Every legitimate Queenstown business is welcome. The launch categories are just below.

Can visitors book it?

Free. No account. We use these details only to reply and to build the listing, see our privacy policy.

Who can list

Every legitimate business in the Whakatipu basin, from Glenorchy to Gibbston. The app launches on 1 November 2026 with 12 visitor categories, so businesses in these go into the app first.

Everything elseTrades, professional services, shops, and every other local business: accepted into the queue for the Queenstown Pocket business directory that follows launch. You are told the track in the first reply.

Nobody is turned away for what they do. The one reason we say no is that we could not confirm the business is real, and when that happens we say exactly what we could not verify.

How it works

  1. Tell us about the business

The form above takes two minutes: name, category, where it is, your website, and whether visitors can book. One tap on the email we send confirms it is you. No account, no login.

  2. We check the facts

Hours, prices, address and phone are read from your own website or Google listing and dated. We write the description ourselves, in plain words.

  3. You check the link

Within three working days you get a reply: for a launch category, the link to the listing to look over before 1 November 2026; for everything else, confirmation that you are in the directory queue and when it opens.

What a listing shows

The rules

The same rules as every guide on this site, written out in the editorial policy.

Bookings

After launch, Queenstown Pocket is setting up bookings for activities and tours through Rezdy, the booking platform most Queenstown operators already use. A visitor books in the app at your own price; the platform pays Queenstown Pocket a commission, the way every booking agent in town is paid. Nothing is charged to you for being listed, and the listing is the same whether you take bookings or not.

If you already sell on Rezdy or Bookit, tick it in the form. If you take bookings another way, tell us which, and we will link to your own booking page in the meantime.

The one paid thing in the app, and it is not switched on yet. After launch, a business will be able to pay for a placement at the top of its category, carrying a visible Sponsored label. What the listing says does not change, the price is the same for everyone, and a sponsor cannot buy a better opinion. Tick the box in the form to hear when it opens and what it costs.

Questions

How much does a listing in Queenstown Pocket cost?

Nothing. Listings are free and are never sold. The only paid thing in the app will be a labelled featured placement after launch, and paying for it does not change what the listing says.

Which businesses can be listed?

Any legitimate business in the Whakatipu basin. The app launches on 1 November 2026 with 12 visitor categories: eat and drink, adventure, sightseeing, walks and hikes, biking, ski and snow, wine and beer, family, wellness, nightlife, golf and culture. Businesses in those go into the app first. Everything else, from trades to professional services, is accepted into the queue for the Queenstown Pocket business directory, which follows launch. The first reply tells you which track you are on.

Why would a request be declined?

Only when we cannot confirm the business is real: no trace on the public registers, a contact we cannot reach, or details that do not match. We say exactly what we could not verify, and a reply with the missing piece reopens it. Nobody is declined for what the business does.

What does a listing show?

Name, category, address and map pin, opening hours, a price band, phone, website, and a booking or menu link where there is one, with a short description in our own words. Hours and prices are checked against your own website or Google listing and dated.

Can I write the description myself?

You can send us the facts and what you think a visitor should know. We write the description ourselves, in plain words with no superlatives, the same way every guide on this site is written. We never copy marketing text, reviews or star ratings.

Can visitors book through the app?

After launch. Queenstown Pocket is setting up bookings through Rezdy for activities and tours, so if your business already takes bookings on Rezdy or Bookit, say so in the form. Listing stays free either way, and the price a visitor sees is your own.

How do I correct a listing that already exists?

Use the same form and put the correction in the message, or email hello@queenstownpocket.com. We fix it, date the change, and record it on the corrections page.

What emails will I get?

Four at most, all from listings@send.queenstownpocket.com with Isaac on reply: one to confirm your address, one when the request is in with what you told us, one with the link when the listing is live or confirming you are in the directory queue (or, only if we could not verify the business, what we could not confirm), and later, only if you asked, one when labelled featured placement opens. No newsletter unless you sign up for it yourself.

Anything else: email hello@queenstownpocket.com. It reaches the founder directly.
