Corrections
Every fact we published about Queenstown that turned out to be wrong, what the page says now, and the source we checked it against. Newest first.
A correction here is a price, time, distance, opening hour, route or status that was wrong when we published it. Rechecks where nothing changed are not listed, and nor are changes that happened after we published, such as a track closing after a storm: those pages show their own last checked date. A corrected page also shows the correction date under its title.

Queenstown to Milford Sound is about four and a half hours each way
- We said
- The Milford guide said five hours each way while the car guide said four, for the same 288 km drive.
- It says now
- Around four and a half hours each way in good conditions, the figure RealNZ publishes for the same drive. DOC still treats the return day as 600 km and 12 to 14 hours.

Twelve Mile Delta comes before Bob's Cove on the Glenorchy road
- We said
- A table headed "in order from Queenstown" listed Bob's Cove at 14 km ahead of Twelve Mile Delta at 12 km.
- It says now
- The stops run in distance order. DOC gives the Mt Crichton car park at Twelve Mile as 12 km from Queenstown and the Bob's Cove car park as 14 km.

Cardrona's 18 October last day is not tentative
- We said
- Cardrona's last day of the 2026 season is 18 October, tentative, read off its booking calendar.
- It says now
- Cardrona's spring page states it: "Cardrona is staying open until 18 October", and that 2026 season and multi-day passes stay valid "through to the new closing date of Sunday 18 October".

What a visitor pays at the Queenstown walk-in clinic
- We said
- A visitor pays $120 for an urgent care visit, $110 for a standard consult and $69 for an ACC injury consult.
- It says now
- Those are the discounted non-enrolled rates, which the clinic limits to NZ residents and citizens, locally based workers and others eligible for publicly funded care. Overseas visitors are charged $300 minimum, medical or ACC, in 15-minute increments.

Sandfly Point ferry and the bus back to Queenstown
- We said
- The Sandfly Point to Milford Sound boat takes about 10 minutes and the bus back to Queenstown about 5 hours 30 minutes.
- It says now
- Tracknet gives the ferry as about 15 minutes and the 2:30pm bus from Milford Sound to Queenstown as about 5 hours 25 minutes.

February is not the driest month
- We said
- February is the driest month on the normals, and the sunniest summer month.
- It says now
- March is the driest at 49.3 mm, with February second at 51 mm; January is the sunniest month at 236.9 hours against February's 209.3.

Who can ride the Skyline luge
- We said
- Under-6s can luge in tandem with an adult for $5.
- It says now
- Children ride alone from 6 years and 110 cm, or in tandem with a paying adult from 2 years and over 85 cm, $5 for tandem rides; under-2s cannot ride the luge.

Shotover Jet age and height for children
- We said
- A minimum age and height apply.
- It says now
- There is no minimum age; riders must be 1 m tall, up to 1.2 m on some river days, and under-5s who are 1 m tall ride free.

- We said

- We said
- Onsen prices shown only at booking, by date.
- It says now
- Onsen publishes its prices: the Original Onsen, 60 minutes, is $122 for 1, $180 for 2, $225 for 3 and $260 for 4, per pool. The Klook card no longer says per person.

Route 4 ride time, town to Arrowtown
- We said
- Route 4 goes from Stanley Street to Arrowtown via Frankton in 40 to 50 minutes, and Route 2 from Frankton Hub takes 25 to 35.
- It says now
- Route 4 goes direct by Gorge Road and Arthurs Point in 21 to 23 minutes (24 to 30 back). Route 2 from Frankton Hub takes 13 to 20.

- Route 4 runs from town on weekdays, 6am to about 10pm, about 23 trips; the last bus to Arrowtown is around 10pm.

- From Stanley Street 6:30am to 10:30pm every day: 21 trips, plus 3 extra trips on most days. The last bus to Arrowtown is 10:30pm.

- We said
- Route 1 from the airport to central Queenstown takes 25 to 35 minutes (about 30 to town, about 40 to Fernhill).

Town to Frankton by bus
- We said
- Town to Frankton takes 15 to 20 minutes on routes 1, 2, 3 or 5 (20 to 25 on the bus place pages), and Frankton or Fernhill to town 5 to 10.
- It says now
- Route 1 takes 13 to 16 minutes to Frankton Hub (9 to 12 back) and 23 to 29 to Remarkables Park. Routes 1, 4 and 5 serve Frankton from town. Fernhill to town is 10 to 14.
