The Trip Pass in the app
Buying it through the App Store or Google Play, and refunds · Last updated 21 October 2026
These terms cover a Trip Pass bought inside the Queenstown Pocket app on iPhone, iPad or Android. Queenstown Pocket is made by Tally Sphere Limited, a New Zealand company. Questions go to hello@queenstownpocket.com.
What the Trip Pass is
- For 14 days from when you buy it, you can invite up to three other people to see and edit a trip plan with you. While it runs, anyone on that plan can invite people to it.
- It is one payment. It does not renew, and nothing is charged again when it ends.
- The 14 days are counted in hours: the pass ends 336 hours after you buy it. The app shows the time and day it ends, in New Zealand time.
- When it ends, invite links made with it stop working. People who already joined keep the plan and can still edit it.
- Buses, roads, walks, the map, plans on your own phone and everything you can book stay free for everyone, with or without a pass.
Buying it
- In the iPhone and iPad app you buy it from Apple through the App Store. In the Android app you buy it from Google through Google Play. The store takes the payment under its own terms, and the price is the one the store shows you before you confirm. We never see your card or account details for the store.
- You need to be signed in to buy, so the pass is kept on your Queenstown Pocket account and works on every phone where you sign in with it.
- One pass runs at a time. While a pass is running on your account, the app does not offer another.
- Restore purchases, on the pass sheet and in the Account tab, finds a pass bought with the store account on this phone and moves it to the Queenstown Pocket account you are signed in to. If another Queenstown Pocket account held it, it leaves that account.
- Founding members get one pass free, once per email address. It runs 14 days from when you start it in the app. There is nothing to pay, so there is nothing to refund.
Refunds
The store that took the payment handles refunds for a pass bought in the app. We cannot refund an App Store or Google Play purchase ourselves, because the money went to the store.
- App Store: ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, signed in with the Apple Account you paid with.
- Google Play: ask Google from your order history at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory, signed in with the Google account you paid with.
If a refund is given, the pass ends, and invite links made with it stop working. If the pass did not work as it should, email hello@queenstownpocket.com as well and we will put it right, for example by extending the pass.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, the Australian Consumer Law, or any other consumer law that applies to you and cannot be excluded.
If you delete your account
Deleting your Queenstown Pocket account ends a pass that is still running, and deleting does not refund it. If you want a refund, ask the store before you delete. The store keeps its own record of the purchase. How to delete, and what is deleted, is on Delete your account.
Your information
To run the pass we keep which pass you have, when it started and ends, and the store’s receipt number with your account. RevenueCat checks purchases with the store for us. The privacy policy has the detail.
