What the numbers say
We haven't slept in any of these, so this is the numbers talking. Mid-range, Frankton gives you the most room for the money: from $208, with town 9 to 12 minutes away on Route 1 and the last bus home at 12:37am. On a budget, pitch a tent at Moke Lake. For a treat, the Sofitel puts you on Duke Street from $1,039. Arrowtown is full, bar one $420 apartment.
The small print
Non-refundable rates are lower; the flexible rates at the Novotel and the Sofitel cancel free until 6pm Friday. Creeksyde holiday park only sells its units in three-night stays this weekend. Buses run the normal timetable all weekend, Monday included, and the driver sells Bee Cards for $5 plus at least $5 of credit, cash only.
