Where to leave your bags in Queenstown
Airport lockers, the town-centre shop that has done it for years, your accommodation, and how to send bags ahead of a Great Walk. Prices from the operators' own pages.

In short: At the airport, keyless lockers outside the terminal at Zone C cost $7 to $20 per 12 hours by size, card only. In town, Info & Track at 37 Shotover Street stores bags for $5 a day or $10 overnight. Your accommodation will usually hold bags for free. Going tramping? Send bags to Te Anau for $25 or Milford for $35.

Queenstown Airport lockers
The lockers are outside the terminal at Zone C (Transfers), keyless, and take credit or debit cards only. Charges are per 12-hour period, so an overnight stay is two periods.

If none are free or a bag does not fit, the Airport Information Desk may store it on your behalf, subject to availability and with charges. There is no storage on the Route 1 bus or at Frankton Hub, so decide at the terminal.
Town centre
Info & Track at 37 Shotover Street, the shop the Glenorchy and Routeburn track buses leave from, stores bags at $5 per item for the day and $10 per item overnight, first come, first served. Come in the day before or at least 30 minutes before a bus departure. It also runs the Queenstown to Glenorchy bus in the Great Walks season, which the Glenorchy guide covers.
The app-based services (Stasher, Bounce, Nannybag and similar) use shops and hotels around the centre as drop points and include insurance; their rates change often, so check the app rather than a guide. For a bag between check-out and an evening flight, your own accommodation is the first place to ask; almost all will hold it.
Before a Great Walk
- Leave it in Queenstown. Info & Track overnight storage ($10 per item) or your accommodation if you are returning to it.
- Send it ahead. Freight through the same shop: Queenstown to Glenorchy (Akin Cafe) $15, to the track ends $25; through Tracknet, Queenstown to Te Anau $25 and to Milford Lodge $35, bags under 25 kg. Arrange the day before for early departures.
- The car. Some accommodation will hold a car for returning guests; there is free parking on residential streets within walking distance of the centre. Lock it and take valuables.

Lockers are charged per 12-hour period, so a full day is two periods: $14 for a small locker, $20 medium, $30 large, $40 extra large.
Is there luggage storage on the Orbus buses or at Frankton Hub?
No. Orbus is a public bus network with no storage facilities; take bags with you (the airport bus, Route 1, carries them fine) or use the airport lockers and the Information Desk.
