In short: Kiwi Park is NZ$68 an adult and NZ$35 a child aged 6 to 15, under-6s free, or a family ticket for two adults from NZ$120 with one child to NZ$162 with three, each excluding booking fees, for a visit the park’s own FAQ puts at 1.5 to 2 hours: a 15 to 20 minute Kiwi Encounter in the nocturnal house, a 30-minute Conservation Show and an hour’s self-guided audio tour. It sits on Brecon Street below the gondola, a 5 to 10 minute walk from town, open daily from 9:30am. Whether it is worth $68 comes down to the kiwi: the timed encounter is what the ticket is for, and the show and the audio tour fill the rest. Prices from the park’s booking page, read 4 October 2026; up to 30 September 2026 it showed NZ$64, NZ$32 and a single NZ$150 family ticket.

The booking page marks every price “excluding fees” and shows the fee only at checkout, so the total is a little above the figures here. Every ticket includes access to the park, a timed Kiwi Encounter and the Conservation Show (booking page (opens in a new tab), read 4 Oct 2026); the park’s FAQ adds that prices, inclusions and times may change without notice.

The family ticket, by group size

The family ticket for two adults is priced by the number of children, NZ$120 with one, NZ$145 with two and NZ$162 with three. The figures below are our arithmetic from the prices in the table: two adult tickets plus one child ticket per child, against the family ticket for that group.

Our arithmetic: separate Kiwi Park tickets against the family ticket for two adults with one, two or three children, from prices read 4 October 2026
GroupSeparate ticketsFamily ticketSaving
2 adults, 1 child$171$120$51
2 adults, 2 children$206$145$61
2 adults, 3 children$241$162$79

With children 5 and under the family ticket is not needed: they are free, so two adults and two under-6s pay $136.

How long it takes, and when

Getting there and parking

The park is at 51 Brecon Street, just below the Skyline Gondola, which its visit page calls a 5 to 10 minute walk from the town centre. There is no visitor parking at the park itself; the visit page lists the Skyline Gondola carpark two minutes away (297 spaces, EV charging, 20% off for Kiwi Park guests with ticket validation), the Wilson and Man Street carparks in the centre, and the Boundary Street carpark for campervans (33 large-vehicle spaces), with the bottom entrance parking for mobility permit holders (plan your visit (opens in a new tab), read 4 Oct 2026). Council rates for Brecon Street itself are in the parking guide. The gondola base is the same end of town, which is why the cost per day guide pairs the two for its middle day.

How long does Kiwi Park take?

About 1.5 to 2 hours by the park's own FAQ: a Kiwi Encounter of 15 to 20 minutes, a 30-minute Conservation Show and a self-guided audio tour of about an hour. The booking page asks you to pick a Kiwi Encounter time when you book.

What time are the Kiwi Encounters?

The park lists Kiwi Encounters daily at 10am, 11am, 12:15pm, 1pm, 2:15pm, 3pm, 4:15pm and 5pm, and the Conservation Show daily at 11:30am and 3pm (read 4 October 2026). The park has no visitor parking of its own. Its visit page points to the Skyline Gondola carpark two minutes away (297 spaces, with 20% off for Kiwi Park guests on ticket validation), the Wilson and Man Street carparks in the centre, and Boundary Street for campervans; mobility permit holders can use the bottom entrance parking. The park is on Brecon Street below the gondola, a 5 to 10 minute walk from the town centre.

Is Kiwi Park cheaper on Klook?

Compare both for your date. Klook's from-price is shown on the card on this page as klook.com gave it on the date the card shows; the park's own booking page, read 4 October 2026, showed NZ$68 for an adult, up from NZ$64 before 1 October 2026. Klook adds free cancellation, the park's page adds booking fees at checkout. Booking through Klook pays us a commission; booking direct pays us nothing.
