What to do in July
- Ski early or late. First Tracks at Coronet Peak (8am to 9am, from 29 June in 2026) and Night Ski avoid the school-holiday queues.
- Try the far fields. Cardrona (54 km) and Treble Cone are quieter than Coronet Peak in the holidays; the $45 bus does the driving.
- Warm-day plan. The hot pools at Arthurs Point and the museum in Arrowtown for the rest day.
- Book the bus. Ski-bus seats sell out in the holidays; the Orbus network ($2.50) still runs town, Frankton and the airport.

Yes. The lower walks (Queenstown Hill, the Frankton Track), Arrowtown by bus, the hot pools and the winter light on the lake make a fine trip; the summit tracks are alpine in July and not for casual walkers.
